I'm Excited for Sonic 4: Ep. II

In a few days, Sonic 4: Episode II will be released on PSN. And I'm absolutely hyped.

I was always (and still am) a colossal fan of Sonic. I remember playing the original trilogy when I was younger, and I continue to play them do this day. In early 2010 when Sonic 4 was first announced, I couldn't believe it. That entire day I was extremely excited. I spent the entire year thinking about, constantly going online to check for updates until episode I was released.

I couldn't buy the game until last summer, but that had nothing on the effect. I played just that game for the full week, trying to achieve all there was to achieve. I even waited so long for this, that I only played one zone per day, to spread the experience.

Last December, Episode II was announced. As you could guess, my hype returned. The graphics got a complete makeover, Tails was added, and the physics are supposedly reworked. I knew know this is going to be awesome. Will Ep. II meet my expectations?  Well, only a few days remain.

Assassin's Creed Impressions

Hello everyone! I'm HockeyHockeyMan, here to give another impression on a new game I got; Assassin's Creed. This is the Playstation 3 edition, so I'll be using those button names.

Let's start with the controls. There are a lot of them, with R1 used as a sort of shift key to allow these actions. Mainly, you can climb, traverse, battle, and blend with the crowd. These are put to good use in the very beginning of the game. The controls may take a while to master, but fortunately a button map with text is in the corner to assist you.

Gameplay consists of finding the prechosen target, getting close in a non-suspicious manner, and following through with, of course, the assassination. The target will usually have nearby followers who suddenly despise you. Makes sense. Now you must run out of their sight; once done so, you must find a hiding spot and stay undercover until it is safe. I assume you do this throughout the entire game, but I hope they add some more elements.  I'm not going to mindlessly do the same task over and over.

In terms of graphics, they are decent. The environment and attention to detail is stunning. How ever not much can be said about the characters. Animations are also very jerky. I have seen much better graphics on the PS3, although to be fair the game was released in 2007. f you want the best graphics, don't come here.

Assassin's Creed has you play as a bartender, Desmond, in the year 2012 who is taken to a science facility. Here, a machine resides where the bartender can relive memories of his ancestors. He controls his assassin past relative Altair, whom is a part of a brotherhood to remove evil and crime from the kingdom. It does a good job of placing you in the 10th century past while still reminding you that this is simply a memory.

Overall, Assassin's Creed is shaping up to be a fun game. It still has some quirks, but they don't ruin the game, and I can't wait to continue on. Have a good day everyone. ~HockeyHockeyMan

Metroid Prime Impressions

Hello there. The other day, I got a GameCube  game: Metroid Prime. I haven't gotten too far in it (memory card issues), how ever from what I've played and from my experiences from the Prime 3 on Wii, it's pretty fun.

Now, I can't say too much about what I like and don't like seeing as I went up to "escaping after the self destruct sequence", but I can say that the control is a bit different than I expected. You can only move to aim, and Samus can't move while aiming. This makes the lock-on feature a huge help. However, it's still good control and any unresponsiveness is probably due to my somewhat worn out controller.

Graphics do look good. Really good. They're not pixel-perfect 1080p graphics, but when showing the enemies and world around Samus, Prime does a good job.

Well that's all I have to say about Prime at this point. Have a nice  day ~HockeyHockeyMan

New Name!

Hello everybody. You may have noticed that the title if this blog has been changed from "Falco99's Blog" to "HockeyHockeyMan's Blog". The reason for this change is that someone else already has a Falco99 username on the internet, just not on Blogger. So I decided to revert my username and my blog name to the one used for my YouTube account used 3 years ago. I will also change my ending to "~HockeyHockeyMan" on all my former posts (Yes, all 3 of them). Goodbye and have a nice day.~HockeyHockeyMan
